pietcard CDI. these are interesting CDI's. you put the coil on your stock points stater plate and use your stock points flywheel! this as an electronic converter made to replace the points and condenser.

use this for mopeds equipped with clockwise bosch ignitions and flywheel - found on puch e50 motors!

this cdi conversion set will require some special installation. you just flip the coil upside down. the part with the letters goes down toward the engine case and the part with the wires goes toward the flywheel. and for the wires blue to blue, grey to grey, black to ground, red to coil and red coming out of blue to your kill switch.

motor rotation - clockwise

coil color = RED

distance between centers of holes in the coil = 54mm

in order to complete your pietcard ignition system you will need a CDI box. generally the 2013 or the 2041 is used. do your research first and make sure you choose the correct one for your setup. if a review doesn't mention which box is being used it will more than likely be referring to the 2013 as prior to march 2014 these were sold with the 2013 box.

It is also highly recommended that you fully complete the pietcard setup with this pietcard external coil.

5 of 5 weird but works grrrreat December 12, 2017

after mayn years of being around these i finally decided to use one. paired with a 2041 CDI box and the pietcard HT coil, this thing is awesome.

note, i initially used an e50 flywheel i had on hand and it ran exactly 180 degrees off (classic bike running backwards) and verified with a timing light for fun. i then slapped a za50 flywheel on and it was almost SPOT on timing wise with the stator in the "centered" position.

so yeah, if you know how to use a timing light and have a little patience, this is an AWESOME cdi option for puch. plus you have the choice of static and curved cdi boxes. lots of stuff to play with.

I got mine in the mail today. Too much snow on the ground to go for a run but will update when I test it out. I got the pietcard 2041 to run with it.

4 of 5 simple to set up July 11, 2011

this is currently my favorite puch cdi in the low cost realm.  it's easy to set up and fires consistently at high rpms.  I am pretty sure it will work on a za50 also it would just install with the writing facing out toward the flywheel.  I still need to put some miles on it but so far it's running strong.
