Very nice quality welds and powder coat finish, props to MLM for that but it DOESNT FIT. IT WILL HIT YOUR FRAME. the amount that you have to bend the thing too is pretty ridiculous, very disappointed with this intake. will be searching for alternate solutions.

2 of 5 Needs a fire wrench and persuader to fit September 18, 2019

Didn't fit my '89 VIP w/ new Team cylinder. Had to (1) beat on the HT coil mounting bracket to move it out of the way a bit, (2) torch the intake to cherry red at the base near where it mounts to the cylinder, and (3) use some aggressive persuasion to bend it enough to fit. High quality construction though, that's for sure.

5 of 5 frame modification to fit June 13, 2019

I had to dimple in the coil mount weld area on the left side in order for the intake to clear the frame. No big deal, just a lot of pounding and swearing every time I hit my hand with the hammer.
Besides that, the new carb location on the left side is cool.

2 of 5 Didn't come close to fitting my VIP. May 21, 2018

After trying to just bolt on and go, I was sorely disappointed to discover that this didn't even come close to clearing the frame on my VIP.  I had to buy a mapp torch which didnt get it hot enough, then brought it to an exhaust guy who was able to bend it, but blew a hole in the side which he had to then weld a bunch of goop onto.  About 8 hours of filing later and the inside resembles some sort of smoothness, but has lost some flow due to a slight crimp from the bending and its got a god awful glob of weld on the outside.  Oh, lost a gasket in the process and may have damaged a reed with a tiny spec of molten steel.  It is machined beautifully and clamps on great when the engine is just sitting on a bench posing for pics.

EDIT TREATS : THIS WAS MOCKED UP ON A VIP ON A BIKE. CONTACT US AND LET US KNOW WHICH MODEL VIP YOU ARE USING SO WE CAN NOTE IT DOES NOT FIT THAT ONE. ON THE BIKE MLM USED IT WAS A PERFECTO FIT.

I had to chop the old HT coil mount to accommodate this, but after that it worked perfecto!
