new HPI CDI mini rotor ignition for honda hobbit, camino, PA50 and PA50II... so this new mini external rotor is actually lighter than the HPI internal rotor!

this version has an integrated 60W light coil for super bright lights! great curve and comes with all you need to make the change. plus you can adjust your stator anytime even with the flywheel mounted!

the trail tech voltage regulator is recommended for use with the mini rotor!

uses a 27mm x 1mm left hand thread puller!

the stator may be black, red or gold, whichever color HPI sends out. its not something we can choose, so its not something you can choose either.

2 of 5 HPI kit not the same March 31, 2022

New kits are being sent out with half the stator thickness of the old ones. The flywheels only cover 80% of the coils vs 100% of the old kit. Spent $500 for 2 kits and both do not produce the strong spark of the old thicker stator of 2017

4 of 5 worth every penny July 16, 2019

Ok, so, like most people, i waited to get this last, which of course is the mistake everyone makes.

You'll have to move some things around, but the performance boost on the lows-mids (not really much high end increase that i've noticed) is AMAZING. It is exactly what i wanted as I dont want it faster i just want more power off the line.

I do have a few things i don't like about it but moreso related to looks, not performance.

1) The cable/wiring from the coil to the sparkplug boot is about 2 inches too short to be able to mount it in the old spot the stock coil is located at. Just find somewhere new to put it (i mounted it where the stock carb used to go).

2) The cable/wiring from the coil to the CDI itself is way to short to get creative.

3) The wire from the coil to the spark plug boot is  cheap, too thin.

All in all, this is expensive but it really is worth every penny and like the pros say, do this first.

NOTE - stock lights wont work, get 12v

5 of 5 Works on Honda NX50 Express SR January 8, 2018

Installed on my Express SR and the bike ran first kick. I had to drill/tap two holes in the engine case to be able to mount the bracketry, but this process was not difficult.

5 of 5 ground that bitch good! May 10, 2016
taco eater : Sarah Baskin from United States of America
The light coil needs a GOOD ground to work, wire wheeled steel frame and subframe wasn't good enough. Finally ran my ground to aluminum engine case and then the light coil worked. You need to be close to .8 OHMs measuring from ground to yellow wire.

Not sure if these come with a flywheel nut.  Mine didn't.  It's worth noting here to prospective buyers that the stock flywheel nut barely fits inside the mini.  (its that mini) So tightening it is not possible.  You have to find a 10mm x1 nut that is not 17m od.  Hope this helps someone from having a WTF moment when they go to install.
