So, if you flip your belt inside out and shove it between the front cheeks of your variator, you'll see there's an air gap between the belt and the center shaft of the variator. With this shim installed, my cheeks opened so wide there was zero air gap, the belt was touching the bottom of that center shaft. this means the cheeks are not pressing on the sides of the belt enough, and caused a lot of slipping trying to start the bike as well as on takeoff. I was told by a variated wizard you want 1-2mm air gap Removal of the shim and re checking with the cheeks spread open revealed stock with the dayco belt, the air gap was 4.5mm using feeler gauges. I sanded the shim between two pieces of glass with 100 grit taped to them and this worked surprisingly well, took about 20 mins to get it to 1.5mm thick and within .03mm tolerance which was wild to me it worked that well. This gave me a gap of 1.9mm between my belt teeth and the center shaft. Perfecto.

Idk what that guy is talking about. fit derbi no problem.
This goes under the ramp plate at the bottom of the threads that the big nut goes on.
Put it on a DS-50. had to put a washer under the the plastic fan to keep it from rubbing on the screws for the grease guard thing. no problemo bro
pretty peppy for a lightly modified stock bike with lightened rollers. hits about 41
OH! but after taking it off a few times, i did need to deburr it a bit so it would fit into the variator. Not a big deal

The OD is too big to slide into the variator and the ID is pretty loose on the end of the bell. There’s not really enough material to grind down the OD to make it work.
