Too Long? Bust out the hacksaw/grinder!

It's still there, so I give it a good.

3 of 5 need to ream July 7, 2019

quality bushings or whatevr but you need to ream them. the mbk shaft is just over 16mm. shaft will fit as-is if you tap it in with a hammer, but if you want it to spin freely, gotta ream.

luckily i'm running a no-ped so i actually don't want the shaft to spin, but you are prolly not.

5 of 5 Motobecane 14179 June 15, 2014
taco eater : RebelMoby from Secret Cellar Moped Lair
This is same size as Motobecane item 14179 pedal bushing "Bague de pedalier" used on all bushed frame loaded pedal shafts from AV32 up to the very last 51V from MBK.
You need to warm the frame and chill the bushings to insert them.  Also use a soft drift or piece of pine block to knock them in or you distort the faces and ID and will have to ream the bushing after.

4 of 5 Fits... with some slight modifications July 27, 2010
taco eater : Rico from Markham, ON Canada
Managed to fit it on an AV48 frame with a bit of lube and some solid banging. A hammer is not enough to get it on... needed a solid 5lb mallet which ended up breaking off the lip on one of the bushings (due to my negligence - first time with fitting the bushings). Recommend you purchase one more than you actually need.

After it was fitted, I then realized that the crank axle would not fit. Some reaming with a drill  (grinding bit attached) followed by some slight manual filing did the trick. All is snug and turns well with no play.

Oh yeah, and you may have to remove one of the spacers when fitting the axle back on as the bushings are just a slight bit wider than the stock ones making it difficult to attach the first circlip if not removed.
