5 of 5 Ignition switch works, but only if wired correctly April 8, 2024

This is for a motorized bicycle. Poles 3 and 4 have continuity in the left position, and poles 5 and 6 have continuity in the right position. It works, but you have to have ignition positive and ground connected to 3 and 4 in the correct order. Unfortunately, I don’t remember now what order and I’ve sealed the bottom of the ignition switch holder so that wires can’t just get yanked out. But I tested the switch by removing the spark plug, grounding it to my head and cranking the engine. With ignition positive and negative connected in the proper order, you will not have ignition when the switch is in the off position. You will have ignition in the middle and right position. With ignition positive and negative connected in the wrong order, you won’t have ignition in the middle or off position. This is important to me, as I have my battery positive wired to poles 5 and 6, which only have continuity in the right position. Now I can kill my lights without killing my engine.

Looks rad I guess but I agree it should come with at least basic instructions not even for wiring but for assembly. Basically; Take the metal bracket piece off of your speedo, drop the speedo in the hole and reattach the bracket inside the top half plastic (from the back of the holder) for a snug fit. THEN feed your speedo cable through the bottom half of the holder, but *DONT* attach the the plastics just yet or you'll be taking it back apart, which is a whole ordeal, trust me. Hook up the cable PRIOR TO attaching the plastic's bottom half to the top half. The screws are twice as long as they need to be (and too thicc to thread) so I'd chop those down or better yet get smaller ones. Also, I don't know why (leverage?) but the only tool that could get enough grip to get the screws in and out was the small philips on my milwaukee 11in1. Also; if you get a drop of brake cleaner on this thing it'll permanently stain the plastic so cover it with a towel when changing grips.

kinda works with a 77' puch maxi front forks. Might have to do some janky stuff to make your 60mm speedo fit in the hole for the speedometer. wiring diagram and maybe some instuctions would of been nice.

Black and Red is for accessories. i.e lights'  DC if ya have a battery

Brown and Blue is for the Ignition  i.e grounds the coil or CDI
does not receive any power A/c or D/C

Quality is okay but The way the ignition switch was made meant it didn’t actually work which sucks.
