I got some 1/2" long plastic spacers and some 3/4" #4 sheet metal screws to space the lens away from the body. Now I can fit this 6v dual filament in there - https://www.treatland.tv/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=light-bulb-6v-5/21w-BAY15D Filled the gap with that auto/marine adhesive rubber gap sealer. Looks like it came that way from the factory!

Just got my taillight to work after a rally weekend with bike lights on the back.
The current batch of these differs a lot from previous versions. This one has the ground going straight to the spring that holds the lightbulb up. It also has a thick paper gasket in place of a plastic base for the bulb.
When I first put it on, it ground out on the metal of the fender, and I didn't have enough time to properly fuck around with it. I had to put the fingers of a rubber glove over the mounting bolts, and use two pieces of a blown out inner tube to keep it insulated from the fender.
I'm sure there's an easier way, but I'm a dummy when it comes to the magic that is electricity.
Oh, and I had to drill out another hole on the stock Hobbit fender for it to work. It's rad, I'll probably buy another one day, and I'm trying to dig up a plastic variant fender to replace my metal one.
