you can still use this clamp for 8mm stems too, but you have to flip it and use the two 8mm nuts to squeeze it together instead of using the threads...

Looks like it works really well. It does, so well that I couldn't get a good clamp on the bracket and the mirror bobbles back and forth. Tried bending the bracket with clamps and grips. Nothing.  
Attempted to attach with the Buffalo Fully adjustable mirror to no avail.
