I did the same thing as the guy way below to mount to my freespirit. Just tech-screwed dat boi in.
The only thing to consider is that for a freespirit, you essentially only have 1 mounting position since the seat pan's length is pretty much the space between the mounting points of the stock freespirit frame.

i used two short pieces of galvanized bracket strap to mount right on the rack. it sits low and back over the shocks and feels great with some mid rise bars.

cut off the posts,drill and tap some m5 holes,cut the oil storage box a inch about around the back and drill a 5th hole for the seat lever post nut bracket thing.get rid of that stock st seat.

Bought this one for the material. very comfy, but ve prepared to make a seat bracket. I welded a big piece of plate to a piece of handle bar and bolted it to the seat, GOOD TO GO!

I was finally able to get my hands on one of these and mount it on my free spirit. Obviously wasn't a direct bolt up cause of the Free Spirit's dumb frame/seat brackets. But no worries! The seat pan is steel dude! Nothing a few tech screws couldn't take care of and voila, a nice place to plant my boney ass and tool around town. It's super comfy too. Wins all around
