There are three LEDs in total, there's not one on the back. But you can still see a tiny bit of light through the back.
Works on a 12 volt system, though my headlamp steals most of the power so it's a good idea to put an LED headlamp (maybe taillight too) in so the turn signals will be brighter.

i have these with a slightly different flexi mount thing. work perfectly and no more hand signals when i turn. i mounted them clean into my brake light assembly, looks like it came that way
