I purchased this clutch last year and finally put the E50 together, went for a 50 mile ride and the clutch is now useless....

I had to put the lightest springs in the clutch on my 64cc Polini to get the clutch to engage at reasonable 6000rpm and once you learn how to use the clutch (feathering) once you get moving you can hold it wide open and it will slide into full engagement with out bogging or over revving of engine. A smooth engagement. Clutches have not worn out and have over 1000 miles. Bike does 55mph geared 16x42 with 2.75 tires. Like I said weaker springs and fine tuning which takes some time (I KNOW) but once you have it set it is AWSOME! 4 stars because of springs.

I bought this clutch thinking that it could handle some abuse (SF). I'm running a 70cc Kstar, estoril, and VM20 so nothing crazy. I bought this thing and threw some kickstart springs in it (~1 1/2 turns in from flush) After 2 weeks of normal use (no riding doubles.. at all) The posts bent out! It's pretty much a paperweight now. Pretty disappointed to be honest. Just dont expect this thing to be invincible.

come on dudes, we all know the weakest point of an e50 is the clutch! this lil guy helps keep things ripping for as long as possible.
i've never felt that these were lightened too much, if you are running kickstart springs or really cranking down on blue springs then they might not engage fully but that makes sense, right?
also, if you have your clutch engaging at 10k rpm, nothing will last.
if you have a fast setup and want to slip into the power of yer pipe, this is the way to go. if you're drag racing or trying to break land speed records, you better cnc your own clutch and redesign the cases to accept one that is like 2x bigger.

I found shoes to be to light.not heavy enough to engage properly no matter how screws were adjusted.Went back to stock braced and much better.
