I bought this tire to install on a electric semi recumbent, under the idea that it would help with puncture proofing.
I have an 11mm tack, which is designed to emulate a really long goathead, and i test tires by stabbing them with it.
3mm of the tack was protruding, so we can say that there's a 7mm thick layer of rubber here.
I've measured several bicycle tires, and the thickest one i've seen was 7mm thick with this measurement ( marathon plus ), so for as attractive and bicycle-like this tire is, i'd say it's probably the bare minimum of what you want on a moped. The measured weight is a lithe 2.9lbs.
The max speed on the sidewall is 31mph, so i imagine this is best suited as a tire for the front of a moped, but not the rear!
Pros: light, looks like a bicycle tire, cool tread. Cons: It's basically a bicycle tire with a thicker sidewall and different rubber, essentially.

These are perfect all-season tires. Dirt track in CT: check. Blizzard in Boston: Check. MopedGP East: Check.
They're a slice of cake to put on, and will make your day brighter.

This tire is much sturdier than I had expected. Nice and stiff sidewalls.
BUT NOTE- it runs big. The 2.25 was a bit over 2 1/2 inches wide and rubs on the front fender and swing arm of my Batavus VA.
