Does this part go in place of the original rectifier? or do you add this inline by splicing into the wiring?
I replaced the original with this a promptly burned out another bulb.
Any comments are appreciated.
Thanks.

1 of 5 Not a regulator April 1, 2018

Like the previous reviewer said, its a silicone rectifier diode. It goes between the stator and the connection to the battery. The only issues are that the item does not show/say which male connect goes to the battery (red cable) and which goes to the stator (white cable), according to the MB5 wiring diagram. If you have the opposite connection, then it will fry. Trust me, I would know.

Also the terminals are very close together, unless you have a shield covering the female terminals, then you will short it.

honda calls their silicon diodes "regulators"  they dont really regulate the way you're thinking.  this is really just a high power diode which will give you half wave rectification.  honda used the battery in the battery in the mb5 to regulate voltage.
