The design obscures sightlines to insure good contact with the pawl on the crank, which makes the accuracy of the bolt holes paramount. In my case, they were off by only 1 or 2mm, but that was enough to prevent a proper mesh. On the SI model, significant cutting of the subframe is required, and even then laterally spacing between the pawl and pullstart is iffy and non-adjustable. For about $30 of pullstart parts, I find this to be overpriced. I ended up crafting my own. Sorry to be so negative, but this was an expensive disappointment.

This thing is just awesome. Bolts right on as advertised. I'd just keep a rough eye to make sure everything gets lined up properly. I highly recommend this part.

Machine the aluminum pieces out of steel!

The little grooved pieces that catch on each other to spin the crank are extremely brittle. Please use caution. Other than that the only other thing i noticed is that it is only for a stock sized variator and my pollini one would not fit under the housing. BUY A NEW BELT ALSO BECAUSE THE HOUSING HITS YOUR BELT IF ITS TOO LOOSE. 5 stars because it works and looks cool.

Finally Cheetah has made a Pullstart for the best moped in the world…..the Vespa Piaggio, Variated not for you Single Speed Slowpeds haha….When I get this bad boy installed I’ll report back. From what Cheetah has produced in the past for Vespa it’s nothing short of a masterpiece, I expect the same for this Pullstart. Cheers!!!

Malossi Crank owners beware

It has been determined that the Malossi crankshaft for Vespa has 10mm x 1.25 threads. This kit was built for stock cranks or all aftermarket cranks with 8mm x 1.25 threads. What I have found is that of all the cranks in the store they are all 8mmx1.25. The malossi is the only oddball, but oh so sweet.
