ATTN! you must ensure the bolt on the wheel is tight, it would be a good idea to add some loctite to ensure it doesn't come off.

I bought this with the intentions of using it to replace the makeshift one I made with a piece of the original chopped off fender support and washers... But then realized I like the crappiness of the one I made so I just replaced the washers on the one I made with the sprocket included in this one! Shit's miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiint!!!

4 of 5 Good quality, some modification required October 17, 2022

This works just fine, just look up the Puch Maxi Spare Parts Catalog online to find an exploded diagram view.

There's an extra washer that's not on the diagram.  I put that one up against the wheel.  Be mindful of the orientation of the wheel and the chain holder.  If the chain is popping off right away it's probably on backwards.  If the chain rubs on the holder that's probably on backwards.

This fit on my 76 Maxi Nostalgia, but that's the older style that doesn't have the longer slotted hole for the alignment pin.  You'll have to use a dremel and start from the hole on the swing arm and go about 5/8" across.  Should fit later model years just fine.

Check the spring action.  I had to very lightly dremel the shoe as it was getting bound up a bit on some casting.  If it wasn't for this I'd give it 5 stars.

Think you need this? You're probably right.

Would be nice if the gear was metal, but can't complain.

4 of 5 Assembly instructions? July 24, 2018
taco eater : Kam from TX United States
My Puch was missing it's chain tensioner so I bought this one, but didn't have anything to compare it to.
It would be nice if it were assembled via the product image or had an "exploded diagram" to use to assemble it. I managed to put it together best I could, but still wound up with an extra bolt and washer so I hope I did it right!
