5 of 5 Hey you!! Yeah you with the Jawa! Saturday, August 19, 2023
taco eater : Randy PopPez from Bloomsburg, PA United States
Got these for my 1980 Jawa 207. I wanted to sit lower in the rear and these absolutely did that. Had to remove rear fender and bend rear fender bracket up a smidgen. These gave me exactly the stance I wanted and took literally five minutes to install! If you have a Jawa then grab the shim thingys to go from 10mm to 8mm, you’ll also want a thick 8mm washer and a bit deeper acorn nut. These things look great and adjusting is easy asf with two people. Just use your pizza loving butt to put weight on them while a friend, soulmate or hobo turns the thingy jiggy to your hearts desire. Can’t beat the look and comfort of these for the price.

4 of 5 Nice, but not on new Tomos Sunday, July 8, 2018
taco eater : motor_dorfer from Portland, OR United States
Even on the stiffest preload setting, these will set up a tire vs. fender battle. 300mm on stiff setting work, but your rear tire will no longer be off the ground on the centerstand. Nice shocks though. Way nicer than stock. Stock are 290mm.

5 of 5 love em Tuesday, April 24, 2012
taco eater : Onell from Miami, FL United States
Super cool looking.  I like the adjustments too.  I run the stiffest setting.  I weigh 165.  If youre any heavier than that, you may want to get the longer ones. (300mm)  I love them though.  No fat kids with these on a tomos... your fender will get in a fight with your tire and the fender will win over time.

5 of 5 hobbit with malossi intake Thursday, July 21, 2011
taco eater : Ryan Nash from Columbia, MO United States
I weigh 175lbs and with these on the stiffest setting it clears the hobbit malossi intake by about an inch when compressed.  like shane said these do not come with an adjusting wrench I just used vice grips but a strap wrench is probably a better idea.

4 of 5 Using these on a Garelli ssxl ltd Sunday, April 3, 2011
taco eater : Ryan from Kansas
Bought these after hearing 280mm shocks will fit on the Garelli.  They are very nice looking, much nicer than the stock shocks.  If you are putting these on a Garelli, it will be tricky getting them on since they are longer than stock, but they will clear your side panels and fenders by millimeters.  Also, since it is such a light bike, you probably wont need to adjust it at all, keep it on the softest setting.  I weight 175 lbs and its pretty stiff.

5 of 5 66% more adjustment! Wednesday, February 9, 2011
taco eater : Shane B from Michigan
Mine actually came with a 5-step adjustable preload, which is fancypants. At the lowest setting these were just as bouncy as the stock Hobbit shocks, which is VERY BOUNCY INDEED. I used my strap wrench to adjust them to the highest setting and they stiffened up nicely. I haven't yet taken them over rough roads but I definitely bounce much less. I weigh 195 and these are definitely strong enough to handle my weight.

Note that these don't come with the spanner wrench for adjusting, so you will need to improvise or find the right tool. Like I said before, a good strap wrench can get the job done, just wrap it around the adjusting sleeve and crank it around.

5 of 5 Great shocks Thursday, May 27, 2010
taco eater : Josh J. from Portland, OR United States
Much better then stock shocks on a Tomos, I have had no problem with the tire hitting the fender and I keep them on the middle setting. But I only weigh about 160.
