4 of 5 Good Kit With Some Fitment Challenges Monday, October 12, 2026
taco eater : Alan Blake from Macedonia, OH United States
Overall, good quality casting and finish machining on this kit. Allowed me to hit 40 mph on my Sachs G3 (with a Bing 15 carb and MLM People's pipe). I did encounter a few frustrating obstacles while installing:
1. There are no fasteners included, so you have to figure that out on your own.
2. The included exhaust adapter flange is inexplicably drilled and counterbored for M6 SHCS even though the cylinder has M8 tapped holes. You must drill out the holes in the flange to make them large enough for M8 screws. I used longer M8 hex screws and large flat washers to bridge over the existing M6 c'bores (rather than trying to machine the c'bores larger too).
3. The intake manifold mounting c'bores are too tight for the head of standard ISO M6 SHCS. However, I found that the zinc coated screws that Treats sells do fit (just barely) into the c'bores.
4. The base flange on this cylinder is thicker than the stock 505 jug. So, I could not reuse the M6x32 studs. I bought M6x40 studs instead.

4 of 5 Opportunities for improvement - overall good Tuesday, September 7, 2021

Overall this kit is good quality. I did the usual indecisive googling for a few months; reading all of the forums and asking 100 questions.  I knew going into this that people had to grind some clearance for the nut to go on. Also the exhaust flange bolt holes need to be drilled out to 8mm.  I'm not too crazy about having to grind a brand new component in order to be able to use it but whatever... Assembly wasn't too bad.  There really aren't any instructions so you are left to either research youtube videos, read forums, or just give it the old college try and hope you don't fudge it up!  I put this kit on my Sachs 505 1A - Prima G3 moped, and it really picked up some torque in the mid range. Top speed increased but the biggest change was how hard it rips in the mid range now! I would recommend this kit but wish they'd fix the mold design so you don't have to grind clearance for a nut.

Bought a used sachs with the D motor, which is perfect for this cylinder by the way, and with a dumb 14 mm bing that is not correctly tuned it hits 35 squalid on the stock pipe. since that pipe overheats and falls off, just get the mlm like im going to someday. If you randomly hear a train beneath you, your pipe fell off, and you must put  bondo on it to keep it on there

4 of 5 Sachs machine Sunday, February 23, 2014

Hey guys, just bought this kit to put on a 2 speed sachs 505 2b that I installed a spare D crank in, question I have is will this work with the D crank or do i have to install the B crank I have? Or is it possible to move ports around, extra gaskets or what have you to make the D work? Looks like a super high quality kit that needs little to no cleanup to run…  4 stars cuz I dunno how to crank it :D

Throw a phbg, round bing or amal on your new kit with this intake riser

https://www.treatland.tv/davy-sprocket-s-sachs-intake-spacer-decomp-bolt-p/sachs-intake-riser-spacer.htm

and get a plug to seal your decomp while you're at it. The port window is matched to the intake, you can ramp it to match the cylinder if ya want!

did anybody notice the 15mm intake only measures 14mm? by my calculations that is .5mm less than the stock 14.5mm intake......hmmm

4 of 5 Keep that clutch safe! Thursday, February 24, 2011
taco eater : Andy, from the Zeros from toledo, OH United States
nice mild kit, before you install it make sure you grind down the fins on the bottom right hand side so you can fit a bolt on there!

I'll have more details when it finally gets warm enough to ride

perfect mild speed kit for sachs keeps you AND the clutch happy. my only gripe is it didnt come with any hardware and the intake manifold was not machined where it mates to the jug but some cnc work and a trip to the hardware store fixed meh.
