My kit was so poor in quality, it took a few hours of work to clean up enough to run. The casting boogers in the exhaust port were crazy, I thought it was carbon buildup at first. Looked like welding slag. One of my transfers is a different shape and I had to hone out some scuffs in the cylinder walls. Together and running but I may consider an a55 airsal kit over this guy in the future.

just installed and only started this kit, have not rode it.
On this kit the piston has two holes in it that usually point towards the intake side that ive seen on other kits but the arrow on the piston that usually points down towards the exhaust is facing up when the piston is oriented with the holes up, not sure which was it right....

I ran the hell out of this kit. It is bulletproof if you can manage to kill this kit then you a very good at doing things the wrong way. Ran this until I had some con rod knocking when I pulled the running cylinder off it was missing the top ring just completely gone. It ran like this. You could see where the ring had hit the piston and head and snagged the exhaust port before shooting out the exhaust is my guess. Ran it like this for 3 more months.... I will buy one as soon as they are available just to keep on the shelf.

I get to review it twice. Possibly the best kit ever. Easy to port out, easy to add reeds, and cheap as hell.
I bored a seized one for a Kstar piston and decked the cylinder 4mm. Stock port timings are around 150 exhaust, 100 transfer. Raising it to 190/130 and running big reeds resulted in something meaner than a Gila.

I conducted some research on this BEAST before buying. Stock, it is rated at 4.2hp@5,500rpm! Imagine after porting and pipe. Huge transfers line up perfectly to Tomos A55 cases. The cast iron is definitely a bonus as I don't have to worry about nikasil flaking off after porting. As others have mentioned concern about quality, the ports are a bit rough but who cares? They're going to get ported to shit anyways! Taco rating as is: Good

Your pipe will not fit, nor will your stock Intake. I seem to be breaking all the rules and running this with a 12bing on a a za50 without case welding or matching. This thing is actually a very good kit, after gapping rings and cleaning the bore, makes good torque, you can use Minarelli intakes on this kit! It will stick the carb out forward and right and clear everything...bing w/shim or dellorto without shim. Pair this up with a magnum pipe! It bolts correctly to the angled port and bracket on a maxi frame. Its also a very quiet kit! Paired mine with a magnum head and the setup actually looks stock

I haven't ran this yet, but just looking at it, i would not run it as-is. The casting is poor as is the cutting. Every port hasjagged or even chipped edges. I always give new ports a once over with a file, but most kits could have been ran without it. I would not trust this kit to run without some initial clean-up. I mean the exhaust port is not evenstraight. That was the bad. Over all the port setup looksamazing, i am expecting this to be on hell of a ripper!

Either be very careful when dremeling out your case to match these ports, or just have some extra metal welded around the sides so you have room to play, because once it's matched there won't be much room left at the edges for gasket material. Don't expect super high revs out of it unless you open up the exhaust port, but DO expect to have ungodly low end pull for the size of the kit. Also, be mindful of overheating. It's a cast iron bore, so it's forgiving, and it will let you know well in advance when it's getting too hot (engine will start to sound tinny and you'll lose power) But if it does overheat, it cools right back down again thanks to those massive cooling fins.

This thing is so huge. AS BIG as an 80 Metra and Gila. Easily. Inside ports look great. A little clean up, but nothing scary. I had small port Korado cases which fit this things fine. Ported the snot outta them and fit this beast on great. Bought the matching Monza head which requires longer cylinder studs. This thing will blast and blast HARD. Small intake port, though...medium exhaust. Lots to open up though, so no worries. BUY ME.

i put this on a kickstart e50 which has a the matching case surface, enlarge the transfers case match ,exhaust port 28 mm match with 28 mm header, the intake is real tricky to enlarge because goes in at a weird angle- i stopped at 19 mm. run phbg 19 it rips- super torque lowend. its bad ass
