just make sure you re-grease that one way bearing every like 4-500 miles or so and it should last for a while. got a few thousand miles on one mounted in a piston port clutch bell, a few thousand on one in a flatreed clutch bell, a few miles on a single speed vespa bell... all bikes are no longer with me but are still working fine.
currently running one in a hobbit DR setup and expect it to last a while before anything needs changed.

I blew up my first one using cheap generic grease within 2 miles of riding. Used my good synthetic grease and the second has been running great for a month or so.
Remember. Use that good grease.

Every single tomos uses a similar bearing for the kickstarting part of the motor. Ever hear of a tomos not kickstarting? Nope. Done these, used on last year on a Baker's Dozen bike, it's perfectly fine, just like every clutch pulley. Can't over rev the engine any worse than the always engaged starter shoes so don't you fret.

Same concept as Peugeot / moby clutch pulley.
I currently have one of these in my flat reed variant.
Been well over a year with zero issues.
Game changer if you ask me.
No starter shoes AND no bobo pullstart.
Holler.

I have this bearing in a few of my Derbis that are bikes i ride all the time. It works great. Once you’re moving and the clutch is engaged, the bearing no longer moves. So saying that the momentum of your rear wheel makes it spin your crank up is just silly.
Keep your eyes pealed, we will have machined spacers available for these along with a higher quality HF1616.

I can't tell if you are joking or not but this bearing will not make your bike seize. Think about it it's no different than the one way bearing on a French bike with a clutch pulley.

Too many reasons to not do this

The biggest reason not to use this bearing is that you will over-rev your motor. Meaning, if you let off the throttle your rear wheel will continue to push your crank at a speed that it's no longer receiving an appropriate amount of lubricant for. SOFT SEIZE if you are lucky.
The next biggest reason is that the whole point of removing the starter shoes is to stop the shoes from staying engaged when you release the throttle. This bearing actually makes that problem worse. It will always engage instead of occasionally like the starter shoes.
Yes this will do the job your starter shoes do now. But is that really what you want? Just find a kickstart assembly or snag a pull start and get rid of the starter clutch all together.
