I have a 1987 Honda Elite 50 S. It's the OEM unrestricted model, a true 87 S. After installing the MLM pipe the scooter refuses to go over 30mph. Prior to the install the scooter effortlessly got up to 38-40 depending on the day. For the record this scooter has super low miles and is meticulously maintained.
First I assumed it was a jetting issue so I tried an 86, 88, and 92 jet. All had the same result, out of power after 25 mph and barely hitting 30mph. I swapped out the variator, weights, belt, spark plug, needle position, mixture tuning, etc. mixing and matching... nothing fixed it, the power was just gone after 25mph.
I decided to give up and swap back the whole thing to the stock exhaust and bam, it's super peppy again and back up to 40mph. I've been working on these bikes for a long time and literally tried everything. I can only conclude the MLM pipe was the problem and/or I possibly received a defective one.

Sooooooo, we got one of these pipes to see how they fit on other bikes with af05e motors, specifically a 1985 Honda 'André Courrèges' Tact with af05e motor and an af09 VIN.
No surprise here, it mounts up to the cases just fine. It clears the side plastics just fine, but requires VERY slight modification of the floor board plastics.
I have suspicions that this pipe will fit on all other af05e motors, like the other people in the comments have said, but you might have to trim some plastics.

Yeah so I said I'd buy one of these bois and try it. I actually had my friend buy it on a combo deal so we could get him sum shipping 4 free. I put it on my 1985 AF05e NB50 AERO. This will fit your MF AERO BOIS (And ladies, my wife rides this one).
I havent ripped her yet, the exhaust bolt needs cut down to fit (the welded bracket is at a weird angle to the pipe).
The fitment is overall v good. Probably better than a stock boi. The exhaust flange is dummy thicc. I dont know how the panels will fit, but like if you need a pipe for your nb50 aero or se50 elite, how u gonna complain for real.
Nice pipe so far. super build quality.

Been searching for a quality pipe for my 89 Elite SA50 with the AF05E engine...really hard to find. Saw this one and saw that it said 87 Elite only but took a chance, and it fits perfectly...I mean perfectly. Fits better than the stock pipe. Super well made. If you are looking for a pipe for your early Elite, grab this one soon! Price is right, service is great, and I don't think you're gonna find a better one anywhere else!
