pietcard CDI . these are interesting CDI's. you put the coil on your stock points stater plate and use your stock points flywheel! this as an electronic converter made to replace the points and condenser.

this is successfully used on minarelli V1 mopeds

use this for all mopeds equipped with clockwise new DZE flywheels and CEV ignitions and flywheel - found on some minarelli mopeds and maybe others

motor rotation - clockwise

coil color = YELLOW

distance between centers of holes in the coil = 45mm

in order to complete your pietcard ignition system you will need a CDI box. generally the 2013 or the 2041 is used. do your research first and make sure you choose the correct one for your setup. if a review doesn't mention which box is being used it will more than likely be referring to the 2013 as prior to march 2014 these were sold with the 2013 box.

It is also highly recommended that you fully complete the pietcard setup with this pietcard external coil.

Put it on a Garelli VIP with the Polini Team Garelli cylinder. Paired it with a 2041 box and a Pietcard external coil.  Timing advance works great and it gives a big fat spark.  I'll be putting these on all my bikes from here on out.

Put this puppy In a Motomarina Raven with the 2013 CDI box and she fired right up. I'm New to wrenching on Moped's I'm very new to troubleshooting electrical issues and timing but from what I can tell this is cheap and easy to install and it gets rid of those nasty points and condenser's. I still have to dial in the timing a little better but  finding info on doing that is all online and easy to access. All in all I'm very pleased and I'll probably end up using more of these as I go on.  I give it five tacos because a novice like me can bolt it on and go.

I have used one of these on a CEV Minarelli ignition with the 2041 box. Make sure you don't have a floating ground or you'll blow out the coil and the box.

This seemed to run a bit warmer on my bike than the blue, but who knows what, if any, other variables are responsible for that.

4/5 just because you might want to bench grind this a bit to get full access to the timing screws/adjustment.

2 of 5 make sure you check it with a timing light January 15, 2012

check your timing with a timing light, SERIOUSLY.  I always set my stator in the fully retarded position and hit it with a light.  well guess what... this sucker fires at 1.6mm and then advances to 2.5mm(!!!!!) and does not retard with the 2013 box.  I tried a brand new 2041 box and it fires at 1.6 during idle/acceleration and then retards down to 1.4mm (stator fully retarded still).  you may want to buy a 2041 box if you don't want to risk blowing your piston up or seizing your kit.  this is just my experience with the 2013 box on THIS particular setup (on the red motoplat counterclockwise it has a nice retard curve)... use this info as you will... but I went with a 2041 box.
