Just buy the tool; out with the old set and in with the new set in 5 minutes. Grease the threads before use, and ensure it's all/still lined-up horizontally after each full turn. The machining and diameters are perfect for the task.

A lotta dough, but made changing the bushings a snap! Like any forcing screw, I put a little moly grease on the threads and it didn't even break a sweat. I don't know or care if the bushings went in perfectly straight, and neither does the bike. My belt wears well, the clutch drum doesn't hit the pedal, life is good!

the puller did the job for me I was able to remove a set of bushings from my moby the only problem I had was that the long nut that came with the puller got hot as I was trying to turn it clock wise and the nut would not come out I had to put it into a vise to take off the nut by the time it came out I can see that the threads where starting to wear off on the bolt that came with the puller. I had to go to home depot and buy a stainless steel bolt and nut start on my other moby which also has bad bushings otherwise the pullrer was a great idea I hope the bolt and nut problem gets resolved.

Daaang this thing is smooth. It's soooo expensive though!
Truth be told, I still suck at getting those damn things in straight. The tool can slip sometimes and let it crank down at kind of an angle.
