this is one of the parts that makes the vespa polini variator the best. this variator plate and spacer in one. the spacer is welded on to the plate making this far more indestructible and superior to the rest. cool thing is that you can get this and use it with any of the vespa performance variators, like the malossi, TJT and the polini. not stock, you know that. get this and the malossi variator and it's stil less than the polini one. oh, i've said too much. don't listen to me. do what you want.

5 of 5 Can be made to fit stock variator/franco morini January 8, 2013

the diameter of the Double D keyed hole is right around .700", unlike the Single D keyed hole of the stocker which is 19mm.

Turn the stock variator boss down on one end to .700 +/-.001, and file another keyed surface on the opposite side.
You may need a press to assemble properly.

5 of 5 Mine also stuck a bit May 26, 2010

I have had mine stick on the crank and get bent prying it off. I like this over the malossi because its one piece instead of two making it easier to line up everything quickly and get more tuning done.

man after destroying two malossi variators on ciaociao, i switched to polini and never looked back. then somehow the sucker got stuck on my crank shaft!
it was due to a red locktite mishap, but still, shit wouldn't come off. i ended up having to use a 3 jaw puller on it, bending it to all hell.
i replaced it with a malossi rear cheek i had laying around and that shit didn't last me one race! a chunk broke off and caused me my first dnf of the season. LAME!
poor ciaociao still sits in my bedroom with the broken malossi pulley cheek jammed into my frame. someone get me one of these and let ciaociao live again!
don't miss out on valuable season points due to inferior variater cheeks! go polini or you'll be sorry!
